Nicole Rafferty
Violin and Viola Teacher and Owner of A Musician Is...
Nicole Rafferty studied violin performance and the Suzuki Pedagogy at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music. In 2013 she received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Denver in violin and Psychology. In 2015 she received a graduate certificate in the Suzuki Pedagogy for violin. The same year she also completed a 3 year 1600 hr AmSAT certification in the Alexander Technique.
Performance Experience
Nicole Rafferty has been playing violin for over 17 years and have played with many different groups in both the United States and Italy. When performing for a wedding or other special event Ms. Rafferty believes in up holding a level of professionalism that allows each client to feel relaxed and secure. She also likes to pay special attention to each clients special requests, making sure that the client gets exactly what they want.
Teaching Experience
Nicole Rafferty has been teaching for 4 years and is certified by the American Society for the Alexander Technique and the Suzuki Association of America to teach the Alexander Technique and Suzuki Pedagogy. Ms. Rafferty has taught students from the ages of 4 to 50. Even though, she is certified as a Suzuki teacher she believes in customizing her teaching style to suite the students learning style.
Due to Ms. Rafferty's Alexander Technique training, she emphasizes a learning experience that teaches students how to develop mentally and physically positive habits, problem solving skills, and basic music theory and history.
